Picking the right supplier is one of the biggest decisions a vape shop, convenience store or newsagent makes. Good wholesale vapes in the UK should be genuine, compliant, fairly priced and delivered on time, and since the new duty rules arrived in October 2026, the gap between a reliable wholesaler and a risky one has never been wider. Use this 10-point checklist before you place your next trade order. All vaping products are for sale to adults aged 18 and over only.
1. Is the stock genuine and UK compliant?
Every nicotine product you sell must meet UK rules: a maximum of 20mg/ml nicotine, e-liquid bottles of no more than 10ml and pods or tanks of no more than 2ml. Products should carry UK health warnings and be notified to the MHRA. A good wholesaler only lists stock that meets these rules and can tell you where it comes from.
2. Is the stock duty-paid and stamped?
Since 1 October 2026, vaping liquids carry a Vaping Products Duty of £2.20 per 10ml, and products released onto the UK market must carry an HMRC duty stamp. If a price looks far too low, ask whether the stock is duty-paid. Unstamped stock can be seized and puts your business at risk. Our UK vape market 2026 guide explains the duty in more detail.
3. Do you get a proper VAT invoice?
Every order should come with a VAT invoice showing the supplier’s company details, VAT number and a clear line-by-line breakdown. You need it for your own accounts, and it is also your proof of where your stock came from if Trading Standards ask.
4. Are prices clear, with the cost per unit easy to work out?
Compare suppliers on the cost per unit, not just the box price. Divide the box price by the number of units and check whether VAT is included. A box of 10 at £17 works out at £1.70 a bottle; a box of 5 kits at £30 is £6 a kit. Our bulk buying guide walks through the maths.
5. What is the minimum order?
High minimum orders tie up cash in stock you may not need. A low minimum lets you test new lines and top up best sellers between bigger orders. At Vapes Direct Wholesale the minimum order is just £20 (excluding VAT and delivery).
6. How much is delivery, and how fast?
Check the delivery charge, the free delivery threshold and how quickly orders are dispatched. Tracked delivery matters too, so you know when stock will arrive. We charge £6.95 for tracked UK delivery and orders over £250 ship free.
7. Is the range deep enough for your customers?
Customers come back for the same kit, the same pods and the same flavours. A good wholesaler stocks the full set for each range, not just the starter kit. Look for:
- Prefilled pod kits and matching refill pods
- 10ml nic salts in 10mg and 20mg
- Coils for the common refillable kits
- Zero nicotine (0mg) options
8. Are pack sizes shop-friendly?
Boxes of 5 and 10 let you cover more flavours without overstocking. Being able to mix flavours across an order helps too. The pack size should be shown clearly in every product name, for example “Box of 5” or “Pack of 10”.
9. Is stock information reliable?
Nothing is more frustrating than ordering a best seller and finding it was never in stock. Ask how often stock levels are updated. We check prices and stock against our supply chain every day, so what you see on the site is what we can send.
10. Can you reach a real person?
When something goes wrong, you need a phone number, an email address and a real business address. Check the supplier’s company name and number on Companies House. Vapes Direct Wholesale is run by RZBros Limited from Unit 6, 10-16 Harris Street, Manchester, M8 8EG – see our contact page.
